Michelle Katz & Vivienne Cobden – Beyond the Boundary Wheelchairs
Sisters as well as counsellors, we both chose our profession so we could ‘make a difference’ and help people live their lives in a happier, more fulfilling way. When we first discovered the Trekinetic wheelchair we realised these lightweight and all terrain chairs offered the same betterments for disabled people and their caregivers as counselling did for our clients.
Feeling safe and confident that the chair will cope with most obstacles, means people can live their lives in an increasingly freeing, equitable, independent and happier way. As horizons broaden and challenges previously withdrawn from are faced, self esteem and confidence increases, enabling even more obstacles to be tackled. One might call it a forward propelling cycle.
Our interest in marketing the Trekinetic K2 & GTE wheelchairs began from having taken part in international cycle rides for Regain, a charity that helps Tetraplegics whom have been primarily injured in sporting accidents, to regain as much of their independence as possible. On each ride at least four tetras joined us in their hand bikes. We witnessed their challenges, courage and determination, and have the utmost respect and admiration for these amazing athletes. Together with the people met at the RDA where we’ve volunteered for many years, they have kept us humble and grateful, and for that we thank them.
In 2014 we were awarded The Trekinetic Dealership Of The Year, an accolade we were very proud to receive, and it is our intention to continue raising awareness of these life changing chairs, and enabling people to choose how they live their lives.
So many people have shared with us the struggles they have had at public venues and visitor attractions, so we are making it our goal to attract sponsors to donate at least one chair to every venue in the UK where accessibility is restricted.
Please help us achieve our goal by letting us know if you have experienced difficult terrain at a venue and / or by sponsoring a Trekinetic.

Mike Spindle – Inventor & Manufacturer of the Trekinetic Wheelchair
In 2000, Formula 1 toolmaker, Mike Spindle was sitting in an airport when he saw a young, cool, funky looking young man, in what could only be described as an antiquated wheelchair. It was in that moment, struck by the jarring contrast between the lad and his chair, that Mike decided to set about re-inventing the wheelchair.
Nominated in 2007 by the Daily Telegraph for Great Briton of the Year, Mike continuously strives to achieve his ultimate goal, that of ‘an elegant solution’ and following the success of the Trekinetic K2 manual chair, he designed probably the lightest, all terrain, powered wheelchair in the world, the GTE.
Multi Award winning, the K2 & GTE are state of the art, brilliantly designed and engineered all terrain wheelchairs. Lightweight and easy to disassemble, both chairs will fit into almost any car without the need for adaptation or a hoist.
